Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone that helps regulate your sleep cycle. Melatonin is especially important in helping with sleeping difficulties this includes improving sleep, insomnia, jet lag, falling asleep and staying asleep.
Your melatonin capsules contain bioidentical melatonin in a hypoallergenic, lactose-free, gluten-free & soy-free capsule.

– You are taking medication for psoriasis (Psoralens (5 and 8-methoxypsoralen)
- You are taking medication for stomach acids and ulcers (Cimetidine)
- You are on antibiotics (Ciprofloxacin and other Quinolones)
- You are taking medication for epilepsy or neuropathic pain (Carbamazepine and Rifampicin)
- You are on Benzodiazepines (Diazepam/Lorazepam) or sedative antipsychotics (olanzapine/risperidone)
- You are on Zaleplon, Zolpidem or Zopiclone
- You are on Warfarin (blood thinners)
- You are on immunosuppressants
- You are on MAO inhibitors (phenelzine (Nardil), tranylcypromine (Parnate), isocarboxazid (Marplan), selegiline (Emsam)
· Melatonin may cause drowsiness - driving or other activities that put the patient or others at risk should be avoided if the patient is affected by drowsiness.
The majority of people do not experience any side effects when taking melatonin.
Melatonin is generally well tolerated.
Uncommon side effects:
- Headaches
- Lethargy
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Irritable
Other uncommon side effects include nervousness, restlessness, anxiety, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, mouth ulceration, nausea, hypertension, dermatitis, rash, weight increase, and abnormal liver function tests.
Stop using the medicine and talk to your H+Y clinician if you have any concerns.
Store this medicine at room temperature. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after its beyond-use date, which is printed on the dispensing label.
